Night View from Mt. Hakodate
The vista from the 334-m summit of Mt. Hakodate is regarded as one of the three best nocturnal panoramas in Japan, and globally ranks alongside night views of Naples and Hong Kong. The steep viewing angle from the summit and the proximity of the city and suburbs at the foot of the mountain create superb topographical conditions for a first-rate night view, which is rated with three stars in the Michelin Guide. The view has been compared to the breathtaking moment when a jewel-box is opened, or a city of dancing fallen stars.

Asakusa
An area in the northeast of the city with distinctive character, Asakusa is the old downtown or SHITAMACHI quarter of Tokyo. It is home to the oldest and best known temple in Tokyo, the Senso-ji (or Asakusa Kannon Temple), which has been standing here - in various forms - since 628 A.D. Nakamise-dori shopping arcade, in front of Senso-ji, consists of several fascinating rows of gaudy shops and stalls selling snack foods, traditional gifts and souvenirs.
